Laila Ali & Curtis Conway tie the knot and DJ Zan from Awesome Entertainment is there!
I would like to say THANK YOU to Nishelle Travis (former meetings and special events manager) at the Marina Del Rey Ritz Carlton. Nichelle remembered DJ Zan from two years ago when it came time to find a suitable DJ/MC for Laila Ali & Curtis Conway. Awesome was contacted by consultant, Juliet Ryan from Juliet Weddings.
Zan asked me to assist him at the event and I was honored to be a part of Sunday night's festivities. Laila brought down the house when she surprised Curtis with a song accompanied by the live band that provided her ceremony music.
The band consisted of world-class musicians including:
Donald Barrett, Drums
Ernest Tibbs, Bass
Kenneth Crouch, Keyboards
Their first dance song: Darling, Darling Baby by the O'Jays.
Some of my favorite 90's artists where in attendance including Warren G and Chili from TLC:

and of course, DJ Zan with Laila's dad, The Greatest: Muhammed Ali:

DJ/MC Mark Peace Thomas with Muhammed Ali:

Zan and I want to thank Mr & Mrs Ali for allowing us to share a photo with the greatest boxer of all time!
My dad, Felix 'Tiger' Thomas was a 'feather weight' boxer back in the day. He represented the "Air Force" as an amateur fighter in India where he fought 27 fights and only lost one in the early 1940's. Professionally, Tiger Thomas fought three times at Madison Square Garden and won. He lossed 8 professional fights out of 69 pro matches.
Although he was not the 'Greatest boxer of all time' I consider him the 'Greatest dad'. Here I am in 2003 on a Caribbean cruise with my dad: Felix and my mom: Geneva.

I also worked Saturday evening at Braemar Country Club in Reseda for Hans & Amy Gillinger. The reception went smoothly and their family and friends were a delight.
Their first dance was "Always & Forever" by Heatwave.
The father/daughter dance: "Hero" by Mariah Carey
The mother/son dance: "Too Marvelous for Words" by Frank Sinatra.
and of course, the beautiful bride:
